EMEMHS Guidance System
Overview
Developed a full-stack guidance management system for Enriqueta Montilla De Esteban Memorial High School (EMEMHS) as a capstone project. The platform streamlines counseling services, complaint handling, lost & found management, and parent communication through automated SMS notifications via Semaphore API. Built with PHP and modern web technologies to digitize and improve school guidance operations.
Challenge
The school guidance office relied on manual paper-based processes for handling student complaints, tracking lost items, and scheduling counseling sessions. Parents had no visibility into their children's guidance activities, and the staff struggled with coordination and follow-ups. The system needed to be secure, user-friendly, and work reliably in a school environment.
Solution
Architected a comprehensive web platform with role-based access for students and admin staff. Implemented AI-powered smart matching for lost items using similarity algorithms, voice-to-text input for complaints, and automated SMS notifications to keep parents informed. Built real-time dashboards with Chart.js for analytics, integrated EmailJS for password recovery, and created an anonymous suggestion box for student feedback. Used centralized configuration management for security and deployed with Apache/MySQL stack.
